America has a history of cultural diversity, but now the growth of the Hispanic population is unlike any other minority group in our country's experience. This session will explore immigration policy: how flexible laws dating back to 1960s have resulted in an explosion in the Hispanic demographic from 7 million in 1970 to almost 57 million today and how this impacts our cultural, economic and political landscape. What should we understand about our changing population?
